Early this week, the Dubuque City Council announced that it will decline to take up a proposal that would ban futurehome-based firearms businesses. This deeply flawed proposal would have targeted law-abiding gun owners and home-based Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealers by prohibiting future conditional use permits for gun sales from residential homes. Your NRA-ILA previously reported on this issue last September as the Dubuque City Council voted 6-1 to table the discriminatory city zoning ordinance amendment. Thank you to all NRA members and Second Amendment supporters who contacted Mayor Roy Buol and members of the Dubuque City Council in opposition to this misguided proposal. The ultimate decision to decline to take up this measure would not have happened without your input and participation. As always, your NRA-ILA will continue to update you on this and other Second Amendment-related matters. Keep an eye on your e-mail and the NRA-ILA website for more information on this and other firearms issues.
