This week, the Louisiana House of Representatives passed NRA-supported House Bill 186 by an 82 to 15 vote. Sponsored by state Representative Cameron Henry (R-Metairie), HB 186 would allow for the use of lawfully-owned suppressors while hunting all game animals. HB 186 now goes to the state Senate for its consideration.

NRA-supported restaurant carry bill clears important committee hurdle
On Wednesday, the House Administration of Criminal Justice Committee approved NRA-backed House Bill 72 by a 9 to 4 vote. Sponsored by state Representative Joe Lopinto (R-Metairie), HB 72 would clarify that concealed handgun permit holders may possess firearms in restaurants that serve alcohol. The committee left pending House Bill 20, sponsored by state Representative Jeff Thompson (R-Bossier City), since identical language in that measure is included in HB 72.
